Job Description – Tourist Information Advisor, Tour Guide
The aim of Lismore Heritage Company is to operate a viable business, which will continue to develop and expand on the current tourism product in Lismore and West Waterford.
Reports to: Senior Tourist Advisor and Craft Shop Supervisor
General Responsibilities :
- Tourist Advisor
- Craft Shop Sales
- Reception "The Lismore Experience" to include sale of tickets and promotion in the local area.
- Working to targets set by Management.
- Providing tourist information to all visitors to Lismore Heritage Centre and Tourist Information Office
- Provide back up when necessary to management in the delivery of cultural events and festivals.
- Keeping record of all visitors to the centre, those looking for information and those purchasing tickets or goods.
- Conducting Guided Tours of Lismore Town, St Carthages Cathedral and St Carthages Church and the Towers, and all other venues that may be included in specialist tour packages.
- Responsible for handling and recording cash transactions
- Answering the telephone
- Selling Tourist Literature
- Making Accommodation Reservations
- Displaying Merchandise
- Operating a Cash Register and Visa Card Machine
- Supervision of students and part time workers.
- Make bookings for theatre space and other meeting rooms within the facility.
- Computer Work including answering queries that come in via e-mail, mail and phone, updating data base, word processing
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Hours of Work
Normal standard hours with possibility of outside hours/weekend work on occasions.
Training
Full training will be provided and the appointed person must be willing to participate in training programmes as set out by the company
Holidays : Leave 4 working weeks holiday per year
Remuneration :
€20,153 per annum
