ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Last updated: 26th Jan 2026

Lismore Heritage Centre is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), effective from 28 June 2025.

Scope of Compliance

This accessibility statement applies to the core website https://www.discoverlismore.com/ and to content published or updated after 26 January 2026. All new content is created with accessibility in mind and is tested against WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria wherever reasonably possible.

The following are some of the things that we have implemented to support accessibility:

  • Fully responsive website
  • Content is accessed through a keyboard in an accessible way
  • Images have alt descriptions
  • Heading styles are used correctly to organise the structure of the content
  • Using colour with care
  • Forms designed for accessibility

Legacy Content and Exclusions

Some content published before 26 January 2025 may not fully comply with current accessibility standards. This may include:

  • Archived video content that may not include captions or audio descriptions

  • Historical PDFs or documents that are not fully screen-reader compatible

We are currently reviewing this content. Where such content is essential to the user experience or required for access to key information, we are working to update it to meet accessibility standards. Content that is purely historical or decorative may be exempt where permitted under applicable legislation.

Feedback and Alternatives

If you encounter any accessibility barriers on this website, or if you require information in an alternative format (such as large print, audio, or plain text), please contact us info@lismoreheritage.ie.

We aim to respond to all accessibility-related requests within 7 working days.
