We look forward to welcoming you to Lismore Heritage Centre.
KEY ACCESSIBILITY
Disability awareness / equality training is provided for staff. Personal or General Emergency Evacuation Plans are in place for disabled customers. Free familiarisation visits are available. You are welcome to arrange a visit ahead of booking/visiting to familiarise yourself and/or others with the venue at no additional cost. A map or floor plan showing accessibility facilities is available. Facilities are available for assistance dogs e.g. water bowls, within the grounds of the venue.
Designated quiet times, during which noise levels are reduced to meet the needs of people with sensory sensitivities e.g. autistic visitors, are available. SAT 10-12PM.
Seating is available at regular intervals. A wheelchair-accessible viewing area with step-free access is available providing an optimal vantage-point to view performances, presentations or activities.
As this is a protected heritage building, there are limitations on the level of physical alterations that can be made. However, we have taken all reasonable measures to provide accessible facilities within these constraints.
The accessible toilet provides, as a minimum:
- Step-free access
- Transfer space on at least one side of the toilet, with a drop-down grab rail on the transfer side
- A horizontal grab rail positioned on the wall adjacent to the toilet
An emergency assistance alarm, reachable from the floor. The venue is all on three levels, with access to most areas via lift.
