As part of Movie Season at Lismore Heritage Centre we will be showing "Darby O'Gill and the Little People on Monday the 11th and Tuesday the 12th of March at 11am. 'Escape Room' has arrived in Lismore

Here at Lismore Heritage Centre we are constantly evolving and this January we launched a new, exciting and puzzling experience entitled "The Robert Boyle Escape Room". 

The aim is to find the Alchemist's Stone and to escape the room within an hour before the evil Falcone returns.

Space Week 2017 Comes to Lismore

 

We would like to thank all the astronauts and their parents who participated in a great Space Workshop on Saturday 7th October. World Space Week occurs each year from the 4th -10th October and Space Week Ireland hold a multitude of national events.

Our Space Week Workshop was lots of fun as we explored the Solar System, Stars, vacuums and of course, rockets! The theme of this year’s Space Week was “Exploring new worlds in our time” and we hope we inspired some of the participants to further their interest in Space and exploration.

We are excited to announce that Lismore Heritage Centre has teamed up with Irish designer Orla Kiely and is now stocking her Autumn/Winter range of handbags and wallets. Orla Kiely’s handbag and wallet range exudes her signature style of bold and graphic prints inspired by nature and the outdoors.

National Heritage Week 2017 has just come to an end; we have had some fantastic events over the past week at the Lismore Heritage Centre to entertain all ages. On Tuesday we held our Eureka Workshop with both morning and afternoon sessions.

Keeping up with the Heritage Centre

This week we are thrilled to launch our new Lismore cream tea offer. For only €5.50 you can treat yourself to a cup of positive-tea or Bewley’s coffee with a warm fresh scone, served with jam and butter, as well as our delicate and delicious petit fours. This offer is available all day every day in the Boyle Tea Room at the Heritage Centre.

Keeping up with the Heritage Centre

This week we are feeling extra confident after a makeover. Call down and see if you can spot our new golden sign, sparkling over the centre.  Collect an adventure pack for the family to explore and learn about the town, or for those misty summer days watch the Story of Lismore in the Visitor Centre, where Brother Declan leads you through an entertaining exploration of the history of the town.

Keeping up with the Heritage Centre

With July in full bloom and the sun sparkling, we are thrilled to launch our new Adventure Pack. It’s an incredible opportunity for families to spend quality time together, get some fresh air and expand your education. Our package includes a twenty page booklet, STEM trail, a packet of pencils, orienteering maps and a certificate upon completion. Don’t worry, it’s not all brain work, the trail has plenty of jokes and anecdotes to keep those frowns upside down.

Keeping up with the Heritage Centre

The staff of the Lismore Heritage centre welcomed July with a sense of eagerness and excitement. On Tuesday Alice and Mealla headed to @failteireland ‘s workshop on Castles and Conquests in Kilkenny. They joined forces with other tourism businesses from Kilkenny, Laois and all over the East. Together they explored how to best represent the rich heritage of Ireland’s castles. Themes included leading ladies, great heroes, bloody betrayals and powerful alliances.
