ABOUT US
THE HERITAGE CENTRE
THE FIRST STOP FOR ALL VISITORS
Lismore Heritage Centre is tucked away in a quiet quarter of Waterford at the foot of the Knockmealdown mountains and was opened in 1992 to share insights into Lismore’s formidable history and heritage. Lismore is bursting with fun things to do, activities to explore and a chance to visit hidden places otherwise inaccessible. Lock yourself into our Robert Boyle escape room, join us on our walking tours of one of the prettiest towns in Ireland, and immerse yourself in our virtual reality tours of Lismore Castle.
TELLING STORIES IS OUR PASSION
EXPLORE HISTORY
Our VR experience is the only way to see inside the castle walls. Learn about our jewel of a town, founded by monks, developed by Dukes and now a buzzing hub of festivals and events in the summer. Visit the beautiful castle interiors virtually and hear all about its famous owners, Sir Walter Raleigh, The Earl of Cork, his son the world famous scientist Robert Boyle, the Dukes of Devonshire and some of their famous wives.
