Two children stand outdoors beside a globe. One wears a safari hat and smiles, while the other laughs, holding a magnifying glass and a brown bag. A stone wall and greenery are visible in the background.

IMMRAMA, FESTIVAL OF TRAVEL WRITING

The festival is titled Immrama (an old Irish word for journey). Immrama is held in Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland, on a weekend in June each year since 2003. Immrama has been dedicated to the art of Travel Writing, Good Music, and Fine Entertainment since its inception. Over the centuries many people have made journeys to and from Lismore and we hope that you will enjoy your Immrama in Lismore.

BLACKWATER VALLEY OPERA FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES

The Blackwater Valley Opera Festival, Ireland’s only summer opera festival, is a celebration of the finest opera and classical music set in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East. Tucked away in the breath-taking Blackwater Valley, we stage performances of the highest artistic quality featuring both Irish and international stars and emerging talent of the classical music world.

THE ROBERT BOYLE SUMMER SCHOOL

This summer school celebrates Robert Boyle (1627-1691) one of the most influential founders of experimental science. Since 2012 they have organised the annual Robert Summer School in Waterford celebrating his life and legacy and considering the place of science and technology in our society and culture. In 2018 the complementary Robert Boyle Winter School was established in Dublin.

We went to the Heritage Centre to view the new Lismore Castle Experience. What a way to see inside the Castle and the rooms!
I won’t spoil it by writing it here but IT is a MUST DO when you go to Lismore!!

Delivers what it promises. Good place to go for advice on touring,. The 360 degree virtual visit to Lismore Castle was most enjoyable. Clean toilets.Dun01170, Dublin, Ireland, Aug 2021

Super VR tour of Lismore Castle. This was so much fun for everyone including the child who couldn’t stay on his seat. It’s not long so children won’t get bored, but it’s very well done.
